This is a Rare Bird Alert for Southwestern Ohio (Dayton) for
Thursday, July 2, 2009, sponsored by the Dayton Audubon
Society.
Two adult and one immature BALD EAGLES are regularly seen at
Englewood MetroPark East park. The best viewing sites are reached
by entering the park from the east end of Englewood Dam and turning
North into the park. (That's a left turn if you're coming from Route
48.) Stop at the first parking lot facing the water just past the
restrooms or go to the end of the main road another 1/4 mile or so,
turn left at the junction and go to the lower lot facing the water.
The birds are often seen in the prominent dead tree looking to your
left.
On July 2nd COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen over the Beavercreek Mall.
