Hello birders, this is Greg Scyphers with the Lahontan Audubon Society Bird
Alert covering northern Nevada and adjacent California for Sunday, March 3,
2002. (All locations are for the Reno area unless otherwise noted.)
A Yellow-billed loon is still being seen at Pyramid Lake anywhere from
Sutcliffe Marina to Separator Point. On March 2nd, a Red-necked Grebe was
observed near Popcorn Rock at Pyramid Lake.
There are up to 40 Bohemian Waxwings being seen at Rye Patch Reservoir below
the dam. This area is located about 20 miles east of Lovelock off I-80.
On February 23rd, a Harris' Sparrow was observed at Diversion Dam west of
Fallon.
On February 20th, a Eurasian Wigeon was seen on a pond at Hidden Valley Golf
Course in Reno.
