This is the Voice of Audubon for Monday, March 3.
The SLATY-BACKED GULL in Gloucester was not reported over the
weekend,
but other reports from the Gloucester area included 9 BRANT, 1
PEREGRINE
FALCON, 20 WILD TURKEYS, 1 KILLDEER, and 6 GLAUCOUS GULLS.
Nearby in Rockport, the TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE was still present
yesterday along Country Club Road.
Recent reports from Nantucket have included 60 CANVASBACKS, 6 DOUBLE-
CRESTED CORMORANTS, 10 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 1 BLACK-
HEADED GULL, 45 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS, 2 GLAUCOUS
GULLS, 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS, 3 YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS,
2 NORTHERN SHRIKES, 1 YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, and 65
COMMON REDPOLLS, and in Barnstable there were 175 RING-NECKED
DUCKS, 1 BLACK-HEADED GULL, AND 55 RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS.
Miscellaneous reports from the weekend included 5 BALD EAGLES in
Newburyport, 9 FISH CROWS in Tewksbury, 28 BRANT in Beverly, 30
RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS in Concord, an EASTERN PHOEBE in
Northbridge, 7 COMMON REDPOLLS in Scituate, a CHIPPING SPARROW
in Marion, a EURASIAN WIGEON in Falmouth, another EURASIAN
WIGEON in Eastham, 12 COMMON REDPOLLS and 2 HOARY REDPOLLS
at the Wellfleet Bay Sanctuary in South Wellfleet, a BARROW'S
GOLDENEYE
at Chequessett Neck in Wellfleet, and 80 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS on
Commercial Street in Wellfleet Center.
