This is a summary of reports from the Northern California 
BirdBox, sponsored by the Golden Gate Audubon Society, compiled
14 May 2008 at 06:30 p.m.

Highlights: WANDERING TATTLER, RED PHALAROPE, RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, 
BLACK SWIFT, SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER, GRAY FLYCATCHER, 
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT.

Marin Co.
---------
On May 11, a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was loudly singing in a dense 
clump of willows along Lagoon Trail, on the south side of Rodeo 
Lagoon. From the Headlands Visitor Center Car Park, take 
Lagoon Trail towards the beach, approximately 50-75 yards from the 
car park. (William Legge)

San Mateo Co.
-------------
On May 12, the SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER continues at Ano Nuevo 
State Preserve. It was on the right hand or north side of the trail
200 meters past the Elephant Seal Staging Area. An Adult FRANKLIN'S GULL
flew past heading north. Many RED PHALAROPE and RED-NECKED PHALROPE

On May 11, Ranger Gary Strachan observed (2) YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS 
near the pond at Ano Nuevo. On May 10, Ranger Frank Balthis 
photographed an adult male SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER at Ano Nuevo

Alameda Co.

On May 13, (3) WANDERING TATTLERS were seen at the Tern island just off
shore of the San Leandro Marina. Also present were (6) LEAST TERNS.

Monterey and Santa Cruz Co.

On May 11, a pelagic trip on Monterey Bay reported (150) BLACK-FOOTED 
ALBATROSS, (50) PINK-FOOTED SHEARWATER, (3000) SOOTY SHEARWATER,
(25) ASHY STORM-PETREL, (300) RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, (150) RED PHALAROPE,
(1) SABINE'S GULL, (2) ARCTIC TERN, (380) COMMON MURRE, (12) PIGEON 
GUILLEMOT, (4) RHINOCEROS AUKLET and LONG-TAILED DUCK. (Debi Shearwater)

San Francisco Co.

On May 14, a GRAY FLYCATCHER was found in the broom patch on the 
eastern side of the hill, at the bottom of the grassy hillside at
Mt Davidson. A lone BLACK SWIFT and then a group of (6-7) BLACK SWIFTS
flew over heading north. (Brian Fitch, David Armstrong)
On May 13, an estimated (175) phalaropes were at the south end of Lake
Merced, near the concrete bridge. Most were RED-NECKED PHALAROPES with at
least (6) RED PHALAROPES. (3) RED-NECKED PHALAROPES were at the North Lake
