BirdBox, sponsored by the Golden Gate Audubon Society, compiled
09 May 2008 at 10:00 p.m.
Highlights: REDHEAD, RED PHALAROPE, RED-NECKED PHALAROPE,
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK.
Alameda Co.

On May 6, the female RED PHALAROPE continues at Frank's Dump West,
which can be reached from the end of West Winton Ave in Hayward.
Walk west towards the Bay, then head north to the wetlands,
about a 20 minute walk. (Bob Power)
San Mateo Co.

On May 5, a male REDHEAD seen at about 8pm in the pond behind the
Redwood Shores Market. (Andy Kleinhesselink)
Marin Co.

On May 9, a juvenile ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen flying through
Kirby Cove. (Tim Behr)
San Francisco Co.

On May 9, an alternate plumage RED PHALAROPE was on the Sutro Baths
Pond at Lands End with (3) RED-NECKED PHALAROPE at about 8:00 am.

On May 9, at the concrete bridge at the south end of Lake Merced,
at least (104) phalaropes were counted with the majority being
RED-NECK PHALAROPES, with about 10% being RED PHALAROPE.
