Sightings for March 10
On March 9, in Kelowna the GRAY CATBIRD was again seen along Dunsmuir Road just
E. of Hall Rd (CC,CoC). This bird appears to have successfully wintered in the
area, enduring temperatures down to - 18 degrees Celsiuis for numerous days in a
row.
Also in Kelowna, a BEWICK'S WREN was rediscovered along the railroad tracks N.
of Scandia near sign post 114 (CC). This bird was first seen in July of 2007 and
appears to have set up residence in this brushy area.
At Robert Lake in Kelowna, a male EURASIAN WIGEON was picked out amongst a large
flock of AMERICAN WIGEON (CC).
The GYRFALCON was again seen in Kelowna as it surprised the gulls and ducks at
the Kelowna Yacht Club (CC).
On March 8, two GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE with many CANADA GEESE were seen in
the fields west of Roger's Mill on Larkin X Rd in Vernon (MB).
