Sightings for February 10
 
The BEWICK'S WREN (first discovered by CC on Feb 4) has been seen throughout the
 week and was again present today along Mission Ck near the viewing platform
upstream from Casorso Road in Kelowna (DM). It was hopping about in the thick
understory in the woods near the outhouse which is a short distance down a path
to the N. from the viewing platform.
 
Also on Feb 10, up to 6 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS (3 'Audubon's' and 3 'Myrtle')
were seen along the Esplanade Trails along the shore of Okanagan Lake in
Penticton (CC,TF). Also here was an adult WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, a few CEDAR
WAXWINGS and a SPOTTED TOWHEE (CC,TF). An adult MEW GULL was seen on the beach
near the peach on the Okanagan Lake waterfront in Penticton (CC). Another adult
MEW GULL was on a lamp post in a parking lot at the new Tim Horton's on Hwy 97
just N. of Westbank, next to the Nature's Fare store (CC,TF).
 
In Summerland, a LEWIS'S WOODPECKER was at Powell Beach Park on May St in Trout
Ck Point. Also in the neighborhood were about 6 CEDAR WAXWINGS (CC,TF).
 
On Feb 8, an adult 'KUMLIEN'S' ICELAND GULL was on the ice at the Maude Roxby
Bird Sanctuary in Kelowna (CC,RT). A male RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was seen on
Okanagan Lake in Kelowna at the mouth of Mission Ck on Feb 8 (RT). In Westbank
on Feb 6, the adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen at the mouth of Power's Ck
 in Gellatly Bay (EF).
