Subject: Sandbar Snowy Owl

Hi:
The Snowy Owl was at Sandbar again today (Sat. 1/20). At about 11:00 AM
it was hunkered down in the snow covering the ice on the south side of the
causeway, about 100 yds west of the viewing area, pretty close to the
road.

Subject: Evening Grosbeaks
From: Ken and Mary Spencer <spencers(AT)together.net>
Date: 19 Jan 2002 3:10pm
I too have been enjoying daily visits by fairly large flocks of Redpolls
(30 -40 birds), but was wondering where the Evening Grosbeaks who were
regular visitors last year at my feeder had gone. However, today I was
very pleasantly surprized by a group of 8 who were at my feeders for
about an hour this afternoon. I don't recall that anyone else has
mentioned Evening Grosbeaks this year and wondered if they were a bit
more of a rarity overall this winter ? Mary Spencer, Crossett Hill,
