Subject: [Ontbirds]Piping Plover - Wasaga Beach Directions
From: "Mark Cranford [Ontbirds]" <ontbirds_coord(AT)rogers.com>
Date: 4 Jun 2008 6:57am
Posting for Bruce Wilson of Barrie
The birds at Wasaga Beach are easy to access. Follow Main Street from
Highway 92 and cross the bridge. Take the first right onto Jenetta
Street. Take Jenetta to Spruce Street (2nd left) and turn left. Park
in the parking lot on the right where Spruce Street turns left and into
Beach Drive. You will see the fenced off area of the beach at the
northeast edge of the parking lot with the Guardians sitting at the end
of the boardwalk. The two nest exclosures are easy to see and you will
get great looks at the nesting birds with your scope.
When we were there last Wednesday we managed to see three of the four
birds.

Subject: [Ontbirds]Brighton Wetlands
From: "Keith Lee" <keith.lee(AT)sympatico.ca>
Date: 4 Jun 2008 4:26pm
Hi everyone from the Brighton wetlands, so far this year birding in the
wetlands
has been very interesting, for me and a lot of new people that have come out
to see what we are all about, this has been a great experience for them and
myself, so lets keep it going, anyone new to birding and those who help us
newbie's I will be open as usual Friday June 6th from 5 PM to 7 PM and
Sunday June 8th from 10 AM to 12 PM, note the slight time change for Sunday
most of you sleep in (lol), I will more than likely be there at 9, if not
slightly after.
So far this year I have had visitors from Russia and Florida, see you there,
as before if you can not make these times please lat me know and I will
make every effort to accommodate your request, please try to give me some
advanced notice, e-mail or phone I will reply.

Directions: The Constructed Wetland is located at the SE corner of
Brighton. From Hwy 401, take the Brighton exit (Hwy. 30)and follow
it south into town. Go south through the two traffic lights, over
the railway tracks and follow the main road, now called Prince Edward
Street, south. About 1 km south of the tracks, the main road begins
to swing to the left and becomes Cty. Rd. 64. As this long turn
ends, the constructed wetlands appear on the right side.
There is room to park on the edge (shoulder) of the road, but
use your own judgment.
